In this section, I hope to inspire and inform you about individuals working both in the system and independently to get help for themselves or their disabled loved ones. Making it a personal struggle to reform our system of support for people with mental disabilities can move people to do what others have done. And while I have, in some cases, changed the names of people to protect their privacy, giving personhood to the dilemma of working through various systems, can reduce the scale of institutional problems and empower people to try harder to manage circumstances for the support or themselves or their loved ones.
